The process of globalization has started several decades ago. It has brought to a great increase in political and business communication between various states, as well as to the development of tourism industry. The rapidly developing globalization process is marked by universal language penetration and it has told on different area of our life. The English language is conventionally considered to be the international language. The English language is spoken with different level of proficiency by millions of people all over the world. Almost every person throughout the world has a general idea of English. Meanwhile, other foreign languages are much less popular. If people face with the document or text created in a foreign language they start searching for a way to understand what it is saying. Translation is a procedure of interpreting text created in one language to another one. Conventionally it's considered that there is 2 main methods of translation: manual and automatic translation. Manual translation is the earliest sort of translation process and it means just translating the text or document sentence by sentence made by a person. At the same time automatic translation process is a product of the contemporary technological progress and it has become widespread not too much time ago. Automatic translation may be done with the use of special computer programs, like Prompt, or it can also be done on-line at the web sites specialized in foreign languages. People have already made a great number of procedures automated. But still, in relation to automatic translation there are some minuses. Taking into consideration that there are a lot of special turns of speech in every foreign language, it is impossible to foresee all the future cases of translation. That's why the program uses the most common meaning of this or that word, and it is not all the time the best variant for translation. What is more, sometimes the software translates the fixed expression word by word, and as a result the sense of the sentence is changed. The most obvious plus of the automatic translation is promptness. But nevertheless, essential documents you would better translate manually or consult special translation firms.
